The database provides a transparent, traceable, stable, and accessible archive of climate, socio-economic, and environmental data and scenarios used in the IPCC reports and core figures.
Database Administrator
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) maintains the database to ensure high-quality data availability. The Climate Policy Database is supported by global partners and is regularly updated to reflect accurate climate data.
What data are included in the database?
Entering a keyword will display the following information:
- Content
- Title of the content
- Published by
- Short description
- Other related data
Detailed Information Available
Clicking on the content reveals additional details, such as:
- Contact
- Version
- Date of publication
- Short description
- Update date
- Data service
- Summary
- Documentation
- Coverage (start date, end date, geographical bounding box)
- Provenance
- Accessibility
- Enrichment and linkage
- Origin (name, URL, link)
- DOI name
You can also view numerical data for results entered using any keyword. This includes data class, terminology, data standard, dataset, and data element. A numerical narrowing function is also available.
How to search the database?
You can search the database using a simple keyword. Filters are available to refine results:
- Keywords (+1.5°C, +2°C, +4°C, 100-yr return period stream flow, 1995-2014, etc.)
- Publisher name
- Format (.asc, .csv, .dbf, .gpkg, .jpeg, .json, .nc, netCDF, and more)
Additional Features
The database includes options for sorting and filtering data by geographical coverage, data type, and date of publication. Advanced search capabilities provide flexibility for researchers and policymakers.
