NOAA Climate Data Online Dataset Discovery
What do you need to know about the database?
Climate Data Online (CDO) provides free access to the NCDC's global archive of historical weather and climate data, as well as information on station histories. These data include quality-controlled daily, monthly, seasonal, and annual measurements of temperature, precipitation, wind, and degree days, as well as radar data and 30-year climate norms. Customers can also order certified hard copies of most of these data for legal use. - Source NOAA website

How to search the database?
For example, if you click on the Daily Summaries dataset, you can also view the following types of information: search tool, mapping tool, FTP, documentation & samples (documentation and data sample). Click on "More" to see more detailed information types:

To search in any dataset, click the small plus icon next to the dataset and then click the "Search tool" button. You can search by entering the following information:
- Weather observation type/dataset
- Date range
- Search for (stations, ZIP codes, cities, countries, etc.)
- Search term
Click on the search button to access the Mapping tool. By clicking on "Data Tools," you can also search by location.
